DISTOs and LINOs are covered under Leica Geosystems PROTECT warranty for up to three years ( two years out of the box, plus an extra year if you register within 8 weeks of purchase). After the warranty has expired, we offer a discounted replacement program for an additional 2 years for a total of 5 years of complete or partial warranty replacement.
Your DISTO must be 7th generation or newer to qualify for a warranty or discounted replacement (see the timeline in our About section to determine which generation your DISTO is from).
If your DISTO is 6th generation or older, and the problem is not a known manufacturing defect, there is no warranty or discount program. In that case a new, current model is the only replacement option.
Production of 7th generation devices stopped in 2009, but you may have purchased a 7th generation device new for a couple of years after that. If you are having an issue with a 7th generation device that is not registered with Leica Geosystems, please provide a dated receipt.
Replacement parts like battery doors and holsters are available for some 6th and 7th generation devices and can be found in the Replacement Parts section of this site.
