The Leica DISTO™ E7300 is a 7 measurement mode LDM that is accurate to 1/16th of an inch. It features a backlit LCD display and an intelligent end piece. At just under 4 1/2 inches tall and weighing in at 4 1/2 ounces with batteries, the E7300 is rugged yet compact enough to keep handy, making it an ideal LDM for finish carpenters or interior designers.
Measuring the diagonal distance of rough openings with a tape -- getting it to bend just the right way to get both ends all the way into the corners - is a chore. Measuring large openings is just a straight-up two-person job. The E7300 eliminates these hassles and makes it easy for one person to get accurate diagonals, regardless of distance, using its intelligent end piece and min/max mode.
The average accuracy for a DISTO is 1/16th of an inch. Your mileage may vary -- the individual certificate that ships with each DISTO will tell you by how much -- but if you're banging out studs with a chop saw blade that has a 1/8" kerf, you probably don't need your DISTO showing measurements down to a 16th or a 32nd. The E7300 has 13 unit of measure display modes, from thousandths of a millimeter to a 1/4 of an inch, so you can dial in the level of accuracy you need for the job at hand.
The E7300 can calculate area, volume and remote height or width using the Pythagorean function. The E7300 saves the last 10 screens, so you can use the add/subtract function to fine tune measurements or combine them to get your total area.
